On November 1st you start writing. On November 30th, at midnight, you stop writing. When you're done you should have at least fifty thousand words of some kind of story. In between those dates you write like mad trying to fit plot and substance and character into this thing you're creating. Here is each novel, though not all are online for reading as I have plans for some. I've been an active participant since 2002, and have completed the goal of fifty thousand words each year - though sometimes just barely. It is an fun, interesting and ultimately satisfying endeavor in creativity.

Since writing a novel obviously isn't enough, I also drag other people into writing a novel with me. And of course there are those that join like I did to write a novel. But sometimes you just need that competative edge to win. NaNoWriMo is all about facing yourself and competing with yourself - everyone who tries really wins, but sometimes ... sometimes you just need to feel like others are with you. So in 2004 I talked some friends into letting me email them cotinuously throughout November. The intention was to do it every day, didn't quite make that mark in 2004. But in 2005 - I'm not just taking friends with me, I'm taking potential friends, fallow NaNo'ers and anyone else willing to get taunted by email daily. Here are the archived emails for any who joined late, lost an email or just want to watch a daily decline in my ability to reason.
