Formed in 1965 Pink Floyd gained following as a psychedelic rock band. In the early 1970s a string of successful progressive rock albums gave them world-wide renown. In 1985 Roger Waters left the band, followed by out-of-court settled lawsuits regarding who could tour under the name. Their most successful era was the 70s up to the release of The Wall.
