Christian Death
Christian Death formed in 1979 in Los Angeles, were early pioneers of death-rock. By the mid 1980s they were more closely associated with goth-rock. In 1985 founding member Rozz Williams left the band. The rest of the group continued on, creating a rather wide schism amongst fans loyal to Rozz or Valor. In the early 1990s this was escalated when Rozz formed another band called Christian Death, for a period in the 1990s there were two distinct bands releasing tracks under that title, active at varying times. Rozz commited suicide in 1998, well after it was legally established he had no rights to the name. The band has conitued on since then.
