Hiromitsu Agatsuma is a Shamisen player, an instrument native to Northern Japan. He's been active since 2001 he plays the Tsugaru-jamisen, a larger version of the instrument. His style fuses jazz heavily into his compositions, and is part of the movement that is modernizing the traditional style with newer musical styles.
